Fast Ethernet And Its Different Uses | Telecommunications, Internet ...

Fast Ethernet was initially created in nineteen ninety five as a quicker version of Ethernet. It operates about ten times as quickly as the original version was able to. Since it was created a new faster form of the technology called the gigabit has been created. It is a key part in making the local area network function properly.

The technology was first created by the Xerox Company. Data is passed through networks using special fiber optic cables. This technology has significantly improved the way that we communicate with each other within a network. It is the part that connects the people as well as the different devices in the networks. People can now view information from across the country instantly by utilizing the system.

Personal use of the technology is being used throughout households now. It can be used to sync up multiple computers that a house may have. This enables a connection to the internet on more than one computer in the house. Other household devices like printers are also connected with this technology. From large companies, to schools, or just the average household, many people perform many of their function by utilizing this technology.

The system was first developed because somebody over at Xerox wanted their printer to be able to communicate with their computer. The technology allowed them to just that as well as allow people to sent different types of data to each other. It was made more efficient with the introduction of Ethernet addresses. It operates much like a home address except it is for computers and various networking devices.

Most computer devices today utilize this technology in some way or another. The cable is the most widely used and understood form of the technology. It is the cable for the most part that was and in many cases is the foundation of the system. Networks use the cable to transport data to different users and devices. The cable is probably the most well used form of the technology however other products are also used.

The cable can be thought of as the hardware of this technology. Along with most hardware there is usually some sort of software. The protocol or code that is used could be referred as the systems software. The system needs to know where to send the data to. This is where a computer or a devices address comes into play. If you send a piece of mail without an address the postal worker would not know where to send it, computers are the same way.

With all of the different networks and hardware out there the amount of cable can some times get out of hand. Today there are wireless versions of the technology being made. You may have heard of a wireless printer or mouse. If you are dealing with a very complicated network system this could make things much easier. Wireless can be much easier as well as more convenient to use.

Fast Ethernet has been utilized by a large amount of networks no matter what their size may be. It has become the backbone through which computers as well as computer operated devices are able to function properly.
