SAP Aiming For Oracle In Business Management Software Segment

SAP is aiming to take on? Oracle. Oracle is one of the leaders in the space of business management software and this is one of the huge growth sectors in the industry. SAP is planning to wage this war with its purchase of Ariba Inc. for $4.3 billion. Ariba is a networking and online commerce software developer and is based in Sunnyvale, California. SAP has already completed some key acquisitions which have helped in enhancing its cloud computing revenues too. For instance, SAP purchased SuccessFactors Inc. which is a software company.

Oracle and SAP are working towards becoming big major players in the cloud computing arena. Oracle has also purchased Taleo Corp. in February for around $1.9 billion to increase its presence in cloud computing too.

SAP is planning to integrate Ariba into Hana which is a business intelligence tool that helps clients analyze huge quantities of data swiftly. SAP is also planning to optimize Ariba for use in real time.
